Active Flag

We are busy here in Scoil Chaitríona working towards our first Active Schools Flag. The Active School Flag (ASF) is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often. We will continue during this new school year to maintain our high standards and focus on being active.

Step 1: Active School Committee

We held an election to form our Active School Committee. We ensured that all classrooms in the school were well represented. We have regular meetings where we discuss how we can make our school community more active.

Step 2: Active School Slogan

We had a whole school competition to come up with our Active School slogan.
We had many great entries but our winning caption was:

”Don’t be lazy and waste time in bed,

Come outside and play instead”

Well done Kajus!

Step 3 - School Survey and Suggestion Box

Our committee carried out a survey to figure out which clubs our school community were members of and they set up a suggestion box for Active School Ideas.

Step 4 We had to make improvements as a school

As a school we had to evaluate and make improvements in the following areas; Physical Education, Physical Activity, Partnerships within the Sporting Community and Active School's week. Click the buttons below to see what we've done.
